USED MATCHES

Matches are pretty interesting. I used to collect them when I was 12. I love the story (or is it urban myth) about the guy who made his fortune telling Swan Vestas to save money by only having one striking strip on the box. I also liked Viz comic’s early character: Clarence Coxes - He puts used matches back in their boxes (or something like that). And this is where Joerg Gaetjens match box design comes in. Why hasn’t anyone thought of that before?

yeah, surely they can use the money they saved from removing one of the striking strip to add an extra slot in the box… ;)

Nice. But you only get half the amount of matches. It’s better if people just put the sodding burnt ones in the bin/ashstray/fire (this is a pet peeve - like toilet paper rolling off the roll from the top, not against the wall).

    Am I to anal?

It’s a good point. BUT. If they put a slider in there then it would slide across as you use more matches so you could start with a full box and end with one full of used matches!

Right. And the toilet roll problem? Do you have a solution to it?
