Must work in the city, PR or media, have more (new)money than sense, be ruder than a chinese waiter, arrogance in spades and get Stevie Wonder to choose your clothes
this shoreditch house place is infested with ugly faces with bleached hair with no manners or intellect. why would anyone want to fill a 10 page mortgage form to join such a thing. There are much better places to meet interesting people. The virdict: this is for chavs and essex types that commute to liverpool st and cannot get enough of each other at the train station.
But it’s got a nice pool. And bar prices. With the gym it’s also a pretty reasonable deal all in. It’s never going to feel as inclusive as your local but that doesn’t mean we instantly have to hate it.
But I wouldn’t go on a Friday night because then it’s pretty much as you described it.
I have been going out in Shoreditch for more years than I care to remember when the only venues worth going to were Bricklayers and Charlie Wrights and I am deeply saddened when I see such idiots ruining such a fantastic venue!
Its a real pity this place has filled up with city twats, I now avoid going there Thursday or Friday evenings. Its better at the weekend when the city boys have gone back to their neo-georgian homes!
Teh House is a great venue. On most nightys a better vibe than many bars in the area. Let’s face it, at night the whole manor is now full of day trippers puking up in the streets that face yu in the morning.
I’ve been working in shoreditch, but in my point of view, there is not a real difference ofwhat you are writting:) However they serve really delicious food and the world’s bests coctails:)

HaHa - OMG - You’re so wrong, I’ve nvr seen a Chav there in my life & if you think anyone with an Essex address is getting membership then you’re clearly mistaken. Bn a member of Soho House thanks to my Mums original membership … Bn going to Soho House London, Soho House New York, Electric in Notting Hill & now Shoreditch House as my membership covers all houses - basically Shoreditch House is just a younger arty version of Soho House … Soho House is mostly media / fashion types & Shoreditch House is younger media types [Jefferson Hack etc] & younger designers [Heidi Slimane], east end artists [Tracy Emin] … Chavs wouldn’t ever get membership, it’s totally anti-chav - they all go to chinawhite / movida etc.. not private members clubs.
Crap. Its Chav central on weekends. I have only seen the local artists in there sporadically. I ‘ve seen Tracey once, Gilbert & George were horrified and never came back(witnessed and hilarious). Only Dinos Chapman is seen there regularly (as in twice a month). Basically the Committee screwed up and got the wrong crowd.
Yeah - it’s pretty bad in there… Next time you’re there, um, ‘Me’ (it’s all me, me, me with you isn’t it? ;)) just have a look round, imagine there’s no sound, you’re totally sober, and ask yourself if the people around you are really that cool/attractive/whatever… Dunno, I was only there once, but I wouldn’t hurry back. Maybe it was just a bad night.
