CATWORKWEAR

I met Elena Panizza last week for the first time in a long time. I worked with her in 1999 on this site that never launched. The earth moving part of the Cat brand weren’t too happy that their customers might see whimsical fashion stuff on the internet in middle america so pulled it.
We built an application that turned images into coloured html, something it turned out Rob Manuel had also thought of and done at exactly the same time. The whole thing was deliberately raw and mechanical (versus de rigeur flash of the time) to reflect the imagery that really built the brand.
Some good people on it. Elena, who’s now creative director of Motorola, Ashley Heath the then editorial director of the Face (now doing stuff at 032c), Shubhankar Ray who was at Camper last time I heard anything, Giles who’s now running type-shop Optimo , Gotz who I think is still at Lodown, the fellers at Bluesource and a few others.

Hi,
Your blog is an pretty good collection of interesting resources.
this work above is also not so bad. But have you ever heard about ascii / ansi art? These technologies / ideas around 30 years old. Let me show you some examples: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ANSI_art
