BAD QUOTATIONS

Friday, October 26th, 2007

Found this site on Asi’s post about ultra niche blogs that kick ass. The site is dedicated to ousting inappropriate uses of quotation marks which is a lot more entertaining than it sounds. A total I love “the web”…..”Moment.” “LOL”

IN YOUR EYES

Easy to forget how good Peter Gabriel was. So here’s a little reminder.

USED MATCHES

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

Matches are pretty interesting. I used to collect them when I was 12. I love the story (or is it urban myth) about the guy who made his fortune telling Swan Vestas to save money by only having one striking strip on the box. I also liked Viz comic’s early character: Clarence Coxes - He [...]

SPINVOX

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

Poke’s rework of Spinvox’s site just went up. Very quick turn around on this great service that either converts your voice-mail messages to texts and texts them to you (useful in meetings and stuff), or allows you to call in and have your message turned to text and automatically update your blog. Nice huh.

MAKE YOUR OWN WEDDING RING

THIS WEEK’S QUOTE

Friday, October 19th, 2007

ORIGAMI UNDERGROUND

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

Art often has a tendency towards porn as is evident in the term “art books,” a subtle euphemism for mucky pamphlets, books and magazines designed to stoke the rampant flames of the porn greedy. Few art forms are exempt as is the case here with otherwise squeaky clean craft of origami. Link here

THE BACK UP

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

If the land-mines you laid in the hallway don’t work and the electric fence, barbed wire and booby-trap on your landing don’t put off the determined robber, maybe you should consider The Back Up

BOATS AND PLANES

Monday, October 15th, 2007

If you’re in government and you want to hit your ambitious C02 emission targets, you would just leave out the C02 growth areas like aviation and shipping, wouldn’t you? This is precisely what is happening and is being justified because with a plane or ship not always being within the UK, ’surely it doesn’t count [...]

AND COUNTING

STRICTLY NO PHOTOGRAPHY

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

Asi just sent me this great site that features photos of things you’re not allowed to photograph. Polite punk.

CATWORKWEAR

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

I met Elena Panizza last week for the first time in a long time. I worked with her in 1999 on this site that never launched. The earth moving part of the Cat brand weren’t too happy that their customers might see whimsical fashion stuff on the internet in middle america so pulled it.
We built [...]
